Living out in Vancouver is fantastic for a plethora of reasons, one of which being the large number of places to get acai bowls. Not only are there quite a few spots in the city, but there are places just a quick drive away to find them too! While I was away a couple months ago, the boyfriend drove to White Rock, BC to check out the scene and enjoy a coffee at Islands Cafe - without me. (It's fine, I'll be fine). He sent me pictures of the beautiful scenery and of the coffee itself, which he described as absolutely amazing (in different words). He also mentioned that this goldmine has acai bowls. Sold! Sign me up! On my way!

So, of course, when I returned I had to check this place out. We set out for a quick trip to the rock on a Saturday to check it out, get a coffee, and (of course) a bowl.

To-go cups so we could sip by the water.

For starters, the coffee is delicious, and I highly recommend it. But that's not what you're here for, you care about the acai bowl information. I'm getting to it, coffee is also very important, and deserves at least a quick mention. Okay, to the bowls.

This bowl was suuuper tasty, and had a great texture! The smoothie is made from acai, banana, blueberry, and strawberry - this is kind of a basic combo, and thus, is amazing. The mixture was thick and creamy, and perfect for holding the toppings.

The toppings were classic too, which I also loved. We got strawberries, bananas, coconut, and delicious granola. They also offer additional toppings, including pollen, honey, almonds, or just extra of anything! Gotta love customizations, right?

Would I go back? Absolutely. I would go back again and again, whether it be for coffee or an acai bowl!

Banana rating: 8/10
