Mana! Acai Bowl Review (Hong Kong)

Round two of the #BowlsAbroad (catchy, yes?). After my wonderful time in Malaysia I had the opportunity to spend a few days in Hong Kong before heading home. By "a few days" I mean "literally like 48 hours". Lucky for me, I have a wonderful friend who lives in HK and was available to tour me around! When she asked me what I wanted to do during my time there, I obviously said I wanted to find somewhere with bowls. She found tons, because she's amazing.

On my first night there, we went to Home for dinner. Our plan was to get some food and then have an acai bowl for dessert. Brilliant plan, right? I thought so too. But then our dinners turned out to be the BIGGEST most SATISFYING MEALS EVER.

Look at all. that. green.

Suffice it to say, we were not hungry enough for bowls after. Sad face. Instead we went exploring through some markets, saw an amazing light show over the water on a ferry ride, and shopped the ladies market! I, of course, still wanted a bowl. As such, we added one to our plan for the next day.

The next morning we met up and went for an absolutely amazing hike, which we followed up with - you guessed it - an acai bowl. We had gigantor salads beforehand again, but I refused to leave without trying a bowl. This time we went to Mana! Slow Fast Food. This place is awesome, and when I get back to HK, I'm definitely hitting it up again. The salad was delish (and had huge chunks of pumpkin in it) and the bowl was fressssh.

It turned out I was having this bowl on my one year acai-bowl anniversary. It was also my friend's first ever bowl. SO MUCH TO CELEBRATE. And this was a fantastic bowl to do it with. Not only was it straight-up just acai in the smoothie, but the toppings were the right amount for a perfect balance. Here I am, admiring this bowl of bountiful beauty.

Find you somebody who looks at you the way I look at acai bowls.

As mentioned, the smoothie itself was just blended acai berries, which I have never had before. Huge fan of the taste, however the result was that it was a pretty small serving. It was well balanced out with the right amount of toppings, but I could have gone for a larger bowl overall.

The granola on top was super tasty, but since these were pre-prepped bowls, it had gone a little soggy. Not my favourite situation, but it wasn't terrible. The fruit involved was (obviously) delicious. Because it's fruit - *heart eyes*.

Would I go back? If I got to go with this beauty again, absolutely. If I got to go without her, still yes. But I would prefer to see this girl again. (Clearly someone enjoyed their first acai experience.)
