My first acai bowl review! Before I delve into it, I should cover off how these reviews are going to go down.

Uno: I'll outline the best & worst parts of the bowl, from the smoothie itself to the toppings, from the bowl itself to maybe even the customer service.

Dos: Banana rating (10 bananas = best ever, 1 banana = not suitable for ants to eat if I were to spill this atrocity*)

*no acai bowl could possibly be an atrocity, they are all things of beauty just like all of you.

Tres: The final say, aka, whether or not I would return to get that bowl.

On this past Friday, I met up with my swimmer friend Erin for a delicious acai bowl. If I was to name someone who's bowl obsession was near mine, she's the first person who would come to mind. The difference is that she's much more creative and more often than not will actually make her own bowls, whereas I'm lazy and would prefer to go buy a bowl. Whomp whomp.

They have four acai bowls options at GJc, of which I've now tried two. I've had The Original, and this time I had the Creamy Nutty.

As previously mentioned, I prefer bowls with almond butter in 'em. So I have no idea why I didn't start with the Creamy Nutty the first time. The image below shows Erin's bowl (top), the Sweet Tropical, and mine (bottom).

I asked for no bananas on mine. Why, you may ask? Why would you keep yourself from having such a delicious, candy-like fruit? Because people: Glory Juice has some of the all-time best granola y'all could ever eat. I'm not kidding. They have their own granola, and it's worth buying a bag of (if you have any self-control - of which I do not, so I haven't bought any). No bananas = more room for granola. You see what I did? #smartypants

I'm all for a good (in this case, amazing) granola. Unfortunately, the smoothie at GJc falls short for me. If it was just a smoothie, I'd be like "yeah, das a good smoothie". But acai bowls are meant to be a creamier smoothy, and theirs lacks that creaminess. The bowls you receive when you eat in-house are nice, if not a little small. Their to-go packaging is compostable, aka, ideal. Way to go, GJ!

Banana rating: 6.5/10

Would I go back: I mean, I already have. It's not because their bowls are particularly good, but they are super kind there and the locations are super convenient. They're also recently announced that they can do any of the smoothies from their menu as bowls now, which intrigues me enough to return.
